AlmostWed is operated by Lucius AB, a Swedish company with organisation number 559087-8038 (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, and we process it in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your name, email address and a password (stored hashed — we never see it). If you enable two-factor authentication, we store the data needed to make it work.
Wedding planning data
Everything you add while planning: wedding details, guest names and contact details, dietary notes, seating arrangements, budget figures, to-dos, timeline events and the content of your wedding website. This data exists so the product works — we don’t use it for anything else.
RSVP submissions
When guests respond through your wedding website, we collect what they submit — typically their name, attendance, plus-ones and dietary notes — and show it to you in your workspace.
Technical data
Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) kept for security and troubleshooting, and rotated regularly.
Why we process it
- To provide the service — creating your account, storing your planning data, publishing your wedding website and collecting RSVPs (performance of our contract with you).
- To keep the service secure and working — logs, backups and abuse prevention (legitimate interest).
- To communicate with you — transactional emails such as invitations, password resets and important account notices (performance of contract). We don’t send marketing emails without your consent.
Guest data
Couples add information about their guests, and guests submit information through RSVP forms. We process this data only to provide the planning tools to the couple. If you are a wedding guest and want your data corrected or removed, contact the couple directly or email us and we’ll help.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies: a session cookie to keep you signed in and a CSRF token to keep forms secure. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies — which is why you don’t see a cookie banner.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand overall site usage (page views, referrers). It does not use cookies, does not collect personal data and does not track you across other websites.
Who we share data with
We never sell your data. We share it only with the service providers required to run AlmostWed — hosting and email delivery providers — under data processing agreements. Where a provider is outside the EU/EEA, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your account and wedding data are deleted. Residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period before being purged.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Have your data deleted
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Object to or restrict certain processing
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, imy.se) or your local supervisory authority.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we’ll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the app.
