Use comfortable capacity
A table may physically hold more chairs than it comfortably seats once place settings, centrepieces, and serving space are included.
Notice the last table
A partly filled final table is not necessarily a problem. Spread guests more evenly when the relationships and venue capacity allow it.
Confirm the floor plan
Table count does not prove the layout fits. Your venue should confirm clearances, service routes, fixed features, and accessibility.

Subtract anyone sitting in a separate sweetheart or head-table arrangement, divide the remaining guests by the seats at each guest table, and round up. Then confirm how many physical tables the separate arrangement needs with your venue.
At eight guests per table, 100 guests need 13 tables. At ten guests per table, they need 10. Confirm the comfortable capacity of each table with your venue.
A 60-inch round commonly seats eight adults comfortably, while a 72-inch round commonly seats ten. Place settings, centrepieces, chair width, and venue guidance can change that.
Include everyone who needs a seat once. If the couple or wedding party will sit at a separate table, enter those people in the separate-table field so they are not counted twice.
The result shows the minimum capacity, not the best social arrangement. You can redistribute guests across tables where it makes sense, without exceeding the capacity approved by your venue.
